Better than I expected

I recently bought a new 2021 Toyota RAV4 and wanted to tweak it a bit. I wanted to add some ambient lighting, but I didn't need the standard footlight kit that most people have. I wanted something more customizable with a slightly more luxurious feel. Through some research I came across someone reviewing this product and I thought it was cheap enough to try. The packaging is simple and straightforward, although the instructions are in a different language. You simply put this thin plastic strip in a plastic tube and you're done. Care must be taken that there is no excess cable hanging from the tube, otherwise the small clip will not attach. Depending on what car you have and how many panel gaps you have, it's really easy to install and it helps that they provide a tool to distribute panel gaps. As long as there are no exposed wires sticking out that you can trip over. The tube should last quite a long time. The app is pretty handy too. Lots of different settings and you can adjust the brightness and speed (to change the speed of changing from one color to another if you want more of a fade effect or a fast transition type) of all colors. You can sync it with music, but unfortunately it only plays music through their app. The only downside I see is that the hose sticks out a bit during the day. Unlike something like electroluminescent wire, which only looks like an accent strip during the day, these lights look a bit odd during the day. If you're familiar with wiring, I highly recommend shorting the wires a bit, as there are five connections to the main cigarette lighter and the wires are quite long. With good reason, as it gives you plenty of room to work if you plan on placing them far from the fork, but once you've narrowed them down to where you want them, the extra wiring can be a nuisance. As with the Four Stars, each of the five ports is fitted with a small semi-circular piece of clear (I'm not sure if it's plastic or glass) which I'm sure diffuses the light more efficiently. Well I didn't have any of these on arrival so the light isn't that bright through this piece now. Also, the part that connects to the connector looks a bit scratched like it's a reused part. Overall much better than expected and I keep getting great reactions from drivers. It's a reasonable price, and as long as your car has clearances, it's a lot better than some lights sitting at your feet.
