I bought this last year after a dripping kitchen faucet ruined our kitchen. After 4 months of construction I was scared to death it would happen again so I bought this rug to put under the kitchen sink. Almost exactly a year later I opened the closet and saw that the carpet was FULL of water. It turned out that the plumber had missed a step when installing the chute and it started to leak. How it went almost a year without a leak I don't understand, but once it started leaking it leaked fast and a lot. The carpet was full to the brim when I found it, but I caught it before it could overflow. I bought this mat as a precaution but thought the odds of a second leak were against me. I am SOOO glad I bought it. My sink was 100% dry. We shared our news with family and my mother in law bought one too. After the nightmare we had with last year's water damage and this year's leak, she's not at risk either! Highly recommended!
