Adjustment is only via a small switch which can be opened or closed so not very useful but for the money this pump is a good choice. I've run it through my two connected 20 and 10 gallon tanks connected with a U-tube down the middle and will try to remember to refresh it after a while of use. Edit: Has been in use for a few weeks now, it's a bit noisy now that the lube is gone, but it still works fine. I am happy with this purchase
