I've finally replaced the last 'light' in my house with this light! (You know those ubiquitous flush mount domed glass fixtures with pointed center ends, right? Ugh. I was on a mission to eradicate those horrible things. Down with all those light bulbs!) This fixture is way better and super cheap. . A few things to look out for when considering this type of upgrade: 1. This style has a dark dome so your light is directed downwards and not reflected off the ceiling, which can make your room appear darker was with clear glass. Lamp; 2. The bulb is visible, so you may want an Edison-style bulb that looks nice, not just white (bulb not included); 3. It hangs lower than flush mount, so make sure you have enough space for the height of the ceiling. The circle of the mounting piece that covers the wires is very small, so you may need to patch and paint the ceiling if your old flush mount had a significant overhang (I had to do this on mine). If all of this works for you, this light is a great purchase! It is very light and looks more expensive than its price. It only took a few minutes to install (after I fixed where the old light was). Gold is difficult to capture in photos online, but the listing definitely shows that the light is much more yellow, real gold, than it really is. It's more of a bronze champagne with a greenish tint than real gold (see photo). It reflects the light well and the light from the bulb makes it more yellow golden when the light is on. All in all, it was a great, quick, and inexpensive upgrade for my kitchen!
