I actually bought these for internal use for my pup who has not yet been trusted to be free range but he has had horses too so you understand how helpful it is for will be a rider. Also. This is a beautiful lead rope, very strong and durable. The edges are pretty rough though, so if you've got a draft horse, you'll regret not having gloves. In contrast, I also have a Monty Robert leash which is much softer around the edges so gloves are not required. I have no doubt that even in the most arrogant dressage stables this will last for many years to come and allow you to lead your horse in style. Just make sure you protect your hands properly.
