Put the new Highlander on the wheels. I wash off the brake dust with a sponge and soapy water. Wiping is not required. It doesn't stick at all. Wait to determine the shelf life of the product. Will be updated. July 2018 After three years I finally had to apply the rim wax again. I removed the wheels while working on the brakes and was able to clean them in minutes. Brake dust hasn't settled yet. I used a mild non-stick pan scrub to remove bits of tar and slightly sticky material on the painted part of the inside rim and that was it. After lathering and brushing them, I let them dry and reapplied as instructed. The outer visible part of the discs looks about 98 percent new. Three years of winter salt and summer heat. I had to reapply every summer and will do so from now on, but I wanted to see how long it would take.
