I got this to protect the corner of the wall my cats started to scratch. While it seems to be working. Luckily, they prefer to scrape these rather than drywall. There were no installation instructions and they are not needed. I just drilled holes for the wall anchors and screwed them into place. The scraper itself seems to be of decent quality for a scraper in this price range ($22.99). The scratching surface is exactly as you would expect and it's nice that the fabric backing protects the wall when your cat uses the scratching post. My main downside is that I'm not sure the fasteners will even last long. It is screwed to the wall through a plastic tab with a screw hole and stapled to the scraper. I don't expect this to last long - most likely over time and use it will loosen from either the screw or where it attaches to the substrate. That is the main reason why I gave three stars. Overall, this is a good price for the scraper ($22.99) and so far it's doing what I need it to. However, the main reason I took off two stars is that the mounting hardware isn't very solid. I don't expect it to withstand at most a few months of repeated use by a cat.
