Definitely not worth the money to me. The equipment is not bad, but you could buy something better for the money. A tool kit comes in handy, but you can buy one yourself for less than $20. Personally, I have not used heat pressed glitter vinyl (haven't found any glitter that works for the project). The pens that came with mine are also glossy so I'm not sure I'll be using them much, I figured they were standard colors to use, no. If you are a beginner and want to try your hand at making mugs/candles/signs etc, this set doesn't hurt to get one and play with it. But if you need Cricut for t-shirts/quilts/bags/hats etc. definitely don't buy this set.
