The loudspeakers sound quite good, the housing looks high-quality, albeit a bit dull brown. The tone may be too bright. However, the connections on the back are very annoying. I bought some expensive banana clip leads for them but found they weren't compatible - the only option was to plug the bare wire into the plastic connector. After college I bought a pair of Yamaha speakers that cost about $150 and had solid metal connectors for connecting wires or banana clips. Every stereo I've bought since will at least accept banana clips. To make matters worse, the indentation at the connectors is quite narrow and difficult to get through the wires with large hands - this was very annoying. A disappointment for such an expensive speaker.
