They are comfortable and elastic. Cotton/Spandex. They're not very thick and are well suited to winters on our central California coast where temperatures rarely drop below 40F, but if you live with ice and snow it won't be warm enough. A pair of tights had a sewing error, a large hole right in the crotch. I sewed it back together but it's kind of disappointing to see it straight out of the box.
