Applies evenly and without lumps, which is probably the reason for its popularity. However, it does not apply very hard immediately. So if you want heavier application it takes a while and starts to dry out as you apply it (which I hate as it ruins a smooth application). I suspect this is best for very thin lashes (where clumps and excess product are common). My eyelashes are thicker (actually, the hair is thicker, although sparse in places). For me, a wetter formula works better and faster to add drama. For that I recommend Maybelline Full and Soft, which is still my favorite.
