I've been using the Merrick for many years, I liked that my dog's coat was always shiny, he was active and energetic , no digestive problems at all. I have been an active promoter and have always recommended him to other Aussie owners. That last bag is a nightmare. It smelled "different", usually not a strong smell. The characteristic smell of a fresh bag, like when you first open it. I fed him the normal amount of 1 glass in the morning and 3/4 in the evening. 48 hours of absolute nightmare. He was insanely sick, the smell of very, very loose poop smells just like freshly opened dog food. I hardly drank any water. I DID NOT want to move or anything and Aussies are energetic dogs. I fed him rice while he ate until I took him to the vet. He was mildly dehydrated and after a long series of "what's changed" questions and a blood test, it was determined that it was food. It's been 5 days now and he's still a little sick, although not too bad considering a diet of soft ground beef and rice. He slowly returns to his stupid self. I will never buy this brand again after doing this to my dog.
