I bought an empty case with two Micron 5300 Max SSDs. The body is perhaps the most compact. This is a very good portable device. I've had 2-bay cases from other manufacturers, but they're pretty big. You will love this case when you buy it. Another problem is updating the firmware. I don't expect to drive SSDs in this USB enclosure. However, I can use the Micron Storage Executive to verify the firmware in this USB enclosure. I'm not sure if it's the case with new chips or Micron SSDs with a different design. I will update the comments after further use. [Updates, one star reduced from 5 to 4]: The case is still the most compact for two SSDs. I really like the case design. After using two Micron 5300 Max as Raid 0, the speed is maintained at 500600Mbps; I've tried the same setup in my Thunderbolt 3 Raid enclosure, speeds can go up to >800Mbps when reading. >700 Mb/s when writing. I even tried connecting an AC adapter to improve performance. But it did not work. Although I can use Micron's software to check the firmware, I only see one drive, not two. Therefore I will not update the firmware for RAID 0 configured in a USB enclosure. Compared to the first reviewer, I would conclude that the Micron 5300 SSDs are not suitable for this case. However, if you like a portable dual drive, this should be on your shopping list!
