I ordered these when deciding to redo a large wall in the kitchen/living area. I wanted something big and light, which it is. I painted them black with basic acrylic paint. It took a few coats but the coverage was good. For size comparison, the photo under H is an 8 x 10 landscape photo frame (8 inches high and 10 inches wide). I took off a star because they aren't quite flat. They don't sit close to the wall. I hung them on the command strips so it didn't matter if they weren't completely flat - the command strips still lifted them off the wall. But if you're looking for something that sits entirely against a wall, my set of letters won't work.
