Great antenna. Easy to assemble. Just put tape over the seams as insurance (good practice). Excellent performance at 2m/70cm. I used the LMR-600 to reduce long term loss for this antenna. VHF/UHF antennas require high quality coaxial cables with high speed factors to maximize antenna performance. This antenna is as good as your coaxial cable. Do not use an RG-8x with this antenna. Not even for short trips. The RG-8x works well below these frequencies but is not suitable for VHF and above. You cannot accurately judge the performance of this antenna when using a coaxial cable with specifications lower than the LMR-400. Overall I am happy with this purchase and have recommended it to my friends. I can turn on repeaters I never thought I could reach in this hilly part of California. I painted it gray to minimize the visual impact on non-ham neighbors. The antenna is actually white. This antenna is nearly 17 feet tall, so you need a plan! This is a real spectacle! 73
