Review on BUNN 55200 CSB3T Platinum Thermal Coffee Maker Stainless Steel, 10-Cup – Speed Brew for Enhanced Performance by Linda Venerable

Revainrating 5 out of 5

Very happy with this coffee maker. Up-Star 4 through 5.

I was first drawn to this particular Bunn coffee maker because the logo is a subtly embossed badge rather than the prominent BUNN logo that appears on the front of the machine. Aesthetics were important to me. The "burning plastic" smell reported by some reviewers is absent from this machine. The coffee tastes great and is prepared surprisingly quickly. I'm not used to the speed yet. No need to pause to pour mid-brew as it really is that quick. The double-walled stainless steel carafe is excellent. It keeps the coffee hot longer than stated in the product description 2-1/2 hours. I took note of the reviews complaining that the coffee spilled everywhere and made a mess. I made sure to buy Bunn coffee filters and a Bunn reusable filter. So there are no problems. I gave 4 stars because I only had it for a short time. I'll check again in a year. I know I said "1 year" but I've decided to revise my review of this machine. Almost 4 months later I still have no complaints, especially the issues that other reviewers have had. I still get very hot coffee, the thermal jug keeps it very hot for at least a couple of hours and hot enough for another couple of hours. When I'm desperate, at least the coffee is warm at the end of the day. :-) It doesn't smell like burnt plastic and the ground coffee NEVER overflowed and made a mess. Once again, I emphasize that I use coffee filters made specifically for BUNN machines. I use premium coffee beans that I grind with a Capresso Burr coffee grinder, or the same brand of ground coffee beans if that matters to anyone. *** Update again. The machine still works very well. The only other thing I've tried that works is putting a timer on the fork since I really only make coffee once a day. When I have guests, I just turn off the timer in case we need to make coffee during the day.
