Modern music is usually played very loud. If you listen to normal modern rap/R&B/pop/rock this might not be a problem for you, but for someone like me who normally listens to music mixed at a more normal volume, these headphones really don't have enough power, music like that good to hear. Only at very high volume can I hear this type of music even in a quiet room. My old kidneys were significantly louder. Also note that they don't have a volume control, just to let you know if that's important to you. I was drawn to these headphones because they are small and seem well designed and I love everything about them except the sound. They fit easily and are comfortable. But the weak tone annoys me.
