The size of the backpack is suitable for a 12 year old who can use it for a day hike. It fits extra water bottles, snacks, lunch and a few other essentials. Problem with water bubbles. The handle is in the wrong position. The clip to hold the bag is at the bottom. Yes, you can clip the reservoir handle on, but the plastic clip doesn't open far enough for that. We ended up looping through the handle and attaching the clip to the belt, not the best solution but it works. It is difficult to pour a full 2 liters of water into it.
