Big enough but bad design!
Outside pockets should hold the mobile phone without it slipping out. The front zip pocket starts low but then tapers into a wedge shape. If it had a gusset it could hold an iPhone SE or 8. The outer back pocket is very tight, but could hold a phone securely if it had a small, lightweight strap. Don't put paper money anywhere.
