Review on 🐱 GleePet 57-Inch Cat Tree with Ramp, Coffee Brown - Model GP78570923 by Danielle Rodriguez

Revainrating 4 out of 5

Decent scratching post at an affordable price.

We have two medium sized adult cats and this is the first scratching post we have bought for them. Our gray cat spends many hours on perches and sometimes sleeps indoors. The other cat immediately started clawing at the post in a fit of obsessive rage - so much so that after a few weeks the sisal rope had completely snapped and I discovered what the posts were made of: cardboard! Hollow cardboard cylinders wrapped with thin sisal rope. If I had recognized this in time, I could have prevented irreversible damage to the structure. However, I didn't realize how much our cat loved to scratch the pole until a large hole (about 5 inches long) had formed! At this point I went to Lowe's and bought a much thicker sisal rope to wrap back around each pillar. (all showed the same signs of wear but none were as advanced as the beloved pole) Cats have been using this pole for about a year now and it's time to re-spool some poles. The hammock is useless. in our house as no cat takes care of them. The small ladder does not bother any of the cats, nor does the small platform to which it is attached. However, it helps increase the stability of the tower. We didn't have a single wobble problem, but the tower also stands on a tiled floor. I can imagine how it sways when you put it on the carpet. Brown carpeting shows some fur, but I still prefer it to a dull beige. Overall I like the scratching post, doesn't look ugly in the house and doesn't break the bank.

Pros
  • Scratching Posts and Houses
Cons
  • Generally good but...
