Side bottle cages are useless

Pros: Definitely lightweight. I chose it because it includes 3 zipped pockets while most others don't have more than 2. Cons: It's not waterproof. I had an umbrella but the rain still got on the bag. It does not repel water, so the contents can get wet. The two water bottle holders on this bag are completely useless. What size bottle did I not put there, everything fell off. I put in a regular sized water bottle, 16oz or 24oz bottles, they all fell off. I bought this bag for a trip to Japan last week. I was so embarrassed that the bottles kept falling down. I had to be very careful watching him to make sure my hand was on him. Once a bottle fell on a train. The cap of the bottle fell off after such a violent fall (while standing) and the water flooded the whole car. No, my water bottle is not defective. I was so embarrassed that I kept apologizing to the Japanese, whose bags got wet on the floor and water got on their shoes. After that I couldn't carry water bottles anymore, but I gave them to my husband. I suspect it will only hold the bottles when the bag is full to have some sort of body for the bottles to lean on. If your trip doesn't require bottled water, this may help. Otherwise look for something else. UPDATE 7/30/18: I want to raise the stars for their customer service. After I spoke to the seller about the bad experience, they went out of their way to improve the product. Although I couldn't return this bag, they will send me another product with a better bottle holder design for the same price and in the meantime work with the manufacturer to improve the product. I will definitely consider another product once I try it.
