I wanted to add memory to my HP laptop and I attached my model number. My computer had 12GB installed, an 8GB and a 4GB so both slots were full. My wife's HP computer (different model number and newer year) had an 8GB memory card. I pulled an 8GB card from my wife's HP computer and it worked fine on mine, and a 4GB card from my computer worked fine on her HP computer. I decided to leave her 8GB card in my computer for a total of 16GB and ordered a 4GB card for my wife's computer along with the other 4GB cards I had pulled from my computer . Unfortunately, this 4GB card from Samsung didn't work on their computer. All memory cards were the same speed and all cards worked on one computer, but this one did not work on a second computer. So make sure you don't repeat my mistake and check the model compatibility. This was MY MISTAKE, given that since all current memory cards are interchangeable between both computers, this Samsung card works on both without even thinking of checking the other computer on the compatibility list.
