As a result of the supporting sides on the sides ending too high, the infant is unable to extend out his arms because there is not enough width; as a direct consequence of this, the arms are clamped and the shoulders arch forward; it has been cramped from birth. At the age of six months, we have not "grown" to the holes under the arms; once the infant begins to sit, the hill will no longer be appealing. It's possible that a full-size version of this slide might be more comfortable, but unless you're taking a bath in a really large tub, you won't be able to put it in the baby tub.
