You don't need it. It "blinks" every few seconds and the sound cuts out. The video quality is patchy and the cost is low. It interferes with Wi-Fi so your smart TV will buffer a lot if you don't disable this wireless HDMI adapter when not in use. The video I shared is CSPAN on my satellite console about 3 feet from my TV. I wouldn't recommend that, not even frenimie. Oh, if you have less than 5 inches behind your TV or player you'll need an HDMI adapter as those things take up a lot of space. Also, the instructions don't say that one part is for your TV and the other is for your player. If you turn them over, you get nothing. It would be a good school project, but it's a waste product.
