I love this toaster! At first I was looking for one of those cute retro style toasters but I didn't like any of them so I went with this one because of its reviews, price and because it looked quite attractive. I think I've read some reviews on this toaster from people who got crumpled food? (Recently I've looked at so many products that I could be wrong). Bottom line, mine had no dents or any cosmetic imperfections, it was packed tightly and securely. Background: My last toaster was a nightmare. I don't even know how such a simple device can cause such anger, but every morning it succeeded. Even right out of the box, it wasn't easy to STAY the lever down! You would have to be strong to make it stick. The toast was either pale but hard or burnt (and I never went over 3!) It was a $12 toaster so you really do get what you pay for! Well, THIS toaster is awesome. No problems with the lever. I would like to point out how evenly it browns on both sides/quadrants and its tan color *indeed* matches the number (the toast is marked '3' in the picture)! The dial has a very nice click (see clip) that makes it look a bit vintage so I just love it! I recommend it to everyone!
