Review on 🍞 mDesign 100% Bamboo Bread Box Bin: Stylish Kitchen Storage with Clear Window & Large Capacity by Angel Young

All sides of this bread bin are made from "sustainable bamboo" except for the bottom panel. The bottom panel is made from a thin chipboard/pressboard and smells of formaldehyde from the glue used to glue the wood together. What annoys me the most is that this fact has been removed from the product listing, otherwise I would not have bought it. During pregnancy I developed an increased sensitivity to the smells of pressed wood. This smell is unpleasant. Chemical, nausea, causes headache. Bread absorbs odors easily, and smell is closely related to taste. Nothing in this box stays the same over time and I fear for the safety of storing food here. It can take up to two years for formaldehyde emissions from these cheap materials to subside.
