This is a good but not great set of soaps. I received these varieties: Summer Citrus, Raspberry Scrub, Vanilla Biscotti, and Oatmeal something (lost the wrapper, sorry). All have basically the same ingredients, with the exception of the added oatmeal or sometimes salt. The oils used are plant-based, so that's good if you are concerned about that, and there's no palm oil, which has sourcing issues. However, they are largely very cheap oils: soybean, corn, and sunflower are among the cheapest oils and are not favored by small-batch craft soap makers. Additionally, the fragrances, while very strong and perfumey, are artificial and not from essential oils and other natural sources, and the colorant is certainly fake as well. As far as performance, these do fairly well, with low lather and high cleansing properties. They are low in conditioning properties, so in other words can be drying. I don't understand how they can use the word "organic" in their advertising, since according to the ingredients on the soap, only the shea butter is organic, but none of the other oils is. Also, how is it "natural" when the fragrance and colorant both seem suspiciously fake. They say in the ad copy that they use essential oils, but this is not listed in the ingredients, and merely the word "Fragrance," which is a catchall term that may include natural and unnatural sources. Given the overpowering scent of these, it's almost certainly full of artificial scents, even if there are some essential oils added.99% of people won't care about these issues, but if you're getting these as a gift for someone who is "into soap," you should be aware that this soap may not be as highly appreciated as you might hope. If you're just getting it for yourself and don't care, then, sure: this soap is vegan, smells pretty, and looks nice. It's better than cheapo grocery store stuff, in any case.
