Review on πŸ’ͺ Maximizing Linear Motion Efficiency with Stroke Linear Actuator Pounds by William Rothstein

Revainrating 1 out of 5

Great product when warm, don't use when cold. Terrible customer service.

I had a hydraulic discharge snow blower, I wanted to swap it out for an electric one as the tractor it was driving didn't have rear hydraulics. I bought an actuator from Revain at Windy Nation in September. I already had one, two are needed to move the gutter vertically and horizontally. While Wisconsin experienced a mild winter through late January, the vertical drive froze in December. The horizontal still worked, so I kept blowing snow. Attempting to move the chute on a -5F day broke this drive. We were expecting another 5 inches of snow in a few days so I contacted their service department for help. Due to the short time I had to make up for my lack of a snowblower, I asked Windy Nation to call me, I also left them a vmail. Never in the next 12 emails did they try to call me. I understand It's cold and they haven't posted any job yet. The temperature of this actuator at Revain, things happen and I just wish it was fixed. I mentioned it, I was just looking for a solution that *works* for me. After several rude and very unhelpful emails, most of which attempted to accuse me of poor design (I provided photos and an explanation of the performance behind using the drive clearly showed my usage was within acceptable usage limits), demanded I requested a refund and received a scathing response. I have already complained to the BBB of three counties that I am no longer looking for my money or a replacement product, just trying to help other customers. To be clear, the vertical slide control actuator is frozen within its operating temperature range (15 degrees Fahrenheit). The horizontal one crashed below (-5 ). Both are attached to a wishbone that I can move with my bare hands, so stress and shear weren't an issue. As the initial reaction from them took so long and was far from friendly, I assumed this would be the result. Again, due to time constraints, I needed a new drive, so I bought a replacement from one of their competitors. It was a quick replacement and works great. My advice? Go to them if you are looking for an actuator: https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B0722R39N7/ref=ppx_yo_dt_b_asin_title_o00__o00_s00?ie=UTF8&psc=1
