Great headphones! It's like being in the studio!

I'm by no means an expert, but I do enjoy listening to music and have some deck experience. So I feel like I can tell the difference between great sounding headphones and average sounding headphones. I have to say that I fired them up with white noise, pink noise and various frequency sweeps for about 100 hours. I also ordered the Klipsch Reference S4i headphones that came out about a month ago and blew them through in the same amount of time. This is just my opinion and I have a feeling that each person will have their own preference for how they want their headphones to sound. Comparing the two made that clear to me. The S4i had a much stronger low-end, which to me almost muddyed the music I was listening to. It's hard to explain, but it seemed a little overwhelming. They sounded very good but were very different from the 600vi. The lower part of the 600vi was just right for me. Nice and tight, but not intrusive. Again, this will be a matter of preference. Let me put it this way, with the S4i, when I was listening to Bon Jovi's "Never Say Goodbye," Journey's "Don't Stop Believin," or even Linkin Park/Jay Z./Encore's "Numb," the lead vocals just seemed to shut down sound standing in the middle or at the end of the stage. The 600vi vocals sounded like they were front and center. That's not to say the vocals were bad on the S4i, but people would prefer it. I loved 600vi's singing and I can understand every word they sang/read. I could also hear all the other instruments very clearly and nothing drowned out the others. As some reviews say, the 600vi has a very neutral sound. In all honesty, the best way I can describe the 600vi is that they literally sound like you're in a recording studio with a band! I don't know how to explain it and it might be bad for some people but I like how it sounds. Ultimately, you have to listen to them to really decide if you like the sound. For me, the 600vi are just great headphones. I like the way they sound. In addition, the microphone works very well. I was on the phone for hours and everyone said they couldn't understand that I was using an external microphone. The controls work as they should - the control box is a bit smaller than I would like (I prefer the S4i controller) but they work flawlessly. The best in-ear headphones with armature that you can get in the price range in my opinion. . If you're on the fence, you should try them. I'm pretty sure you'll love them! I tried to force myself to love the S4i because I liked the design a little more, but after digging back and forth I kept coming back to the 600vi. Hope this helps anyone who is unsure. I think they are very underrated and I am always finding a lot more information about the S4i.
