Overall this is a great set for the price. The design is very functional and easy to use. The positive aspects outweigh the bad. As this is very true, I will not give the entire list. The TLDR works as expected, heats up quickly, has a consistent and correct temperature, and is easy to use. If you know what you're doing then it probably won't be a problem. A key point in the instructions was the removal of the temporary transit screw used on the heat gun pump which if not removed could cause irreparable damage. I couldn't find this screw and ended up removing the cover to see what's inside. The base station does not have an air pump as the fan is built into the handle of the heat gun. Therefore the instructions provided are not applicable to this model and are likely copied from an earlier model. Melting soldering iron tips: I have not used temperatures above 375 and the soldering tip melts after prolonged use. See fig. I've accumulated about 50 hours of continuous use since purchase. Tips are easily replaced with higher quality parts at a lower cost because they use standard parts. Air Gun Overheating Error: This has only happened once, but the consequences can be very bad. I have used a heat gun to remove components from circuit boards at maximum air speed with a square wide tip. This worked fine for about 10 minutes, but then the heat gun's display showed the text "E6" instead of the temperature. At this point, the heat gun would not turn off if placed in the stand for more than 10 minutes. I understand that the air gun has a built in cooling system but it seems to be buggy and keeps the air gun at maximum heat instead of cooling it down. I didn't know after a long time if the base station properly handled this issue, so I unplugged the entire device. This only happened once and I've been using the device extensively since then, but I'm concerned that it won't turn off. He was still heating up the air gun after saying the air gun was too hot. After 50+ hours of use and ignoring instructions that made no sense, this device is working as expected. I haven't had any overheating errors causing the unit to freeze and have successfully soldered most applications without frying anything.
