Good news/bad news good for notebook accessories

It kind of does what it's supposed to, but it's a mixed bag. First, it powers my Dell XPS 13 9300, drives two HD monitors (the monitors are connected to the dock via DisplayPort), offers Ethernet, and multiple additional USB ports via a single Thunderbolt connection. It's great, and who can complain about the one connector that connects everything to the laptop. In return, the dock's fan is loud. Not loud like in an aircraft carrier cockpit, but loud enough. And it doesn't take long to run this fan at high speed when blowing out the air as it's not very warm. A firmware update recently resulted in an error message when I boot up the laptop. The message says the fan isn't working properly, but that's clearly the case. Dell asks me to ignore this message. And they lecture me on the appointment of a ventilator. Apparently it's supposed to cool the dock; who knew Because the erroneous error message slows down every laptop startup, it's hard to ignore. The docking station also occasionally interrupts wired Internet access. Sometimes it happens in the middle of work. Oddly, since the laptop keeps saying it's connected, I have to unplug the Thunderbolt from the laptop for a few seconds and then plug it back in to reconnect to the internet. Alternatively, I can disconnect and reconnect power to the dock. Or is it an Ethernet cable. There has been a thread on the Dell support site for over a year with people trying to find a solution to this problem. So, like I said, this docking station is a mixed bag. It's quite expensive for the problems it has. However, if you're looking for a docking station with a noisy fan that occasionally interrupts your wired internet, and from a manufacturer with lousy customer support, this docking station might be for you. After all, it extends my laptop's display to two HD monitors. And it powers the laptop and gives me some more USB ports. Update: Fan, erratic fan error message, and intermittent disconnects from the ethernet port prompted me to purchase a CalDIgit USB-C Pro Dock as a replacement. It's fanless and has all the ports I need. He charges his laptop. It does everything the Dell WD19TB does, minus the issues.
