works with hard drives sata 2.5 and 3.5 drives.

works for all SATA drives I've tried so far. 2.5 inch laptop hard drive, 3.5 -inch Hard Drive and 2.5" SSD. When using 2.5 HDD/SSD, no need to connect power supply only with USB 3.0 cable, but for 12V hard drive like 3.5 HDD, need to connect power cable with connected to the adapter to power the hard drive.
