Review on 🚿 Enhanced Replacement Kit for Moen 100710 PosiTemp Tub and Shower Handle, featuring White and Chrome Knob Insert by Djuan Thompson

I've done this repair a few times on other one handle Moen showers so I felt able to do it again. And these parts looked like the correct parts from the description on the website and on physical inspection they matched the old parts I had removed. But the new cartridge did NOT stay closed when I turned the water on and had to be held down to completely stop the water flow. When released, the central pin slowly extended a few millimeters under the pressure of the water and the shower head began to drip. After making sure it was seated correctly (left hot and right cold) and the second and third attempts at reinstallation, I rejected the cartridge. I then tried using the new pen with the old cartridge to replace the old pen that had cracked near the center mount. On closer inspection, the new pen has an internal lug that the original pen did not have, and when tightened enough to prevent wobble, it interfered with the pad and prevented the old cartridge from powering out. So after an hour, a small bloody cut on my arm, and a full soak I put all the old parts back in and gave up.
