Review on πŸ–±οΈ HyperX Pulsefire Dart Wireless RGB Gaming Mouse, Software Customization, 6 Programmable Buttons, Qi Charging Battery - Up to 50 Hours, Compatible with PC, PS4, Xbox One by Adam Stone

Revainrating 2 out of 5

Great design concept, poor execution, even worse software.

I will try to make this review as objective as possible, despite my disappointment. Ever since I started building PCs, I've been thinking about buying a wireless mouse. Since all the wires are already running around, a fewer wires or two could be a game changer. When I saw that HyperX - a company I identify with with quality products at affordable prices - had their own wireless mouse, I was immediately interested. 50 hour battery life, Qi charging enabled (can be used with any wireless charger, even your phone), 1ms response time, you can see why I wanted this mouse. So I bought it. The first days were bliss. I played MOBA, FPS and RPG very well. The mouse was still a bit heavier, but it's a wireless mouse with a built-in battery, so I can forgive that. However, when I used it, there were only issues I couldn't help but notice. First, they have terrible software. With an average of 2.6 stars out of 5, I'm not the only one who thinks so. The software is neither intuitive nor user-friendly. The design seems simple, but it's full of necessary updates, bugs that come and go for no apparent reason, and worst of all, and this is the WORST: you can close the app if you want to save your profiles. You have created your own profile with your own settings, what do these "premium" products promise you? When you close the app, it will revert to the default preset. How and why does this happen? Another major issue I encountered was connectivity. My biggest doubt when going from wired to wireless was whether I could say I was using a wireless mouse. When shopping for a gaming mouse, even the smallest problem can make a difference. I keep getting the 'Lost Connection' popup in the app. The connection loss happened about every second, sometimes without consequences, and sometimes I reset my DPI to the lowest value. Obviously this is a killer in almost every game. The funny thing about all this is that HyperX can easily claim to have a solution. The box and manual state that you must use a USB receiver extender as the recommended distance between the mouse and the receiver is 20cm, which is 7 inches. Seven. What's the point of a wireless mouse if I have to use a wired extension cord and my mouse can only reach from the phone to the receiver? She loses her purpose. All in all, I really wish this mouse was better. As I said above, I consider HyperX to be a competitive brand that makes good products at affordable prices. To be honest this is the first product from them that has disappointed me. I'm more than happy with everything else. Unfortunately, this mouse just doesn't fit. In summary, it has an excellent response time when it won't turn off, its battery life and charging capabilities are great, but I can hardly consider it a wireless mouse. Above all, I ask game companies to find a workaround that makes their products dependent on their horrible software. Most gaming programs, not just HyperX, are buggy, slow, unresponsive, or crash frequently. I will be returning this product and going back to wired mice. I will keep other wireless mice in mind but keep my expectations low.
