Due to limited USB ports on my laptop I bought this to connect 2 flash drives to one USB port. He's doing his job. I can read/write from any drive on my laptop to any drive connected to the cable and also have the devices on the cable communicate with each other. The cable works with all my 1.0 and 2.0 flash drives. It charges everything connected to the laptop. The cable is short enough to easily be used alongside a laptop. The cable is durable and I expect it to last a while before the pins wear out.
