Fixed P0299 Low Pressure on my 2006 VW 2.0T FSI

Received code P0299 (Low Pressure/Loss of Pressure) on my 2006 Jetta GLI 2.0T FSI. I have a noticeable drop in power and a louder turbocharger noise. I removed the old control valve (part #06F 145 710 B) and saw that the diaphragm had several cracks preventing the turbo from holding pressure. Replaced with this newer piston type changeover valve (Part #06H 145 710 D) which has no rubber diaphragm and never needs to be replaced. This should also match anything with part number 06H 145 710 G. For some reason D is newer and better than G. The swap was pretty easy. In the VW 2.0T FSI, the turbo sits on the passenger side between the engine and the bulkhead as if on an axle. It's actually only accessible from below, so you have to put the car on stands or a ramp. I unplugged the electrical connector at the bottom and then removed 3 socket head screws (5mm metric), 2 at the bottom corners and 1 at the top which were very difficult to reach. NOTE: Next to the valve (just below) is a fourth hex screw that connects to something else and is actually the easiest thing to access, but it's not part of the switching valve, so don't unscrew it. The required hex screws all connect to the black part of the reversing valve and the fourth to the silver metal part. My old valve fell apart completely when it came loose so be careful or you could get a spring or something in your eye. With the new valve, simply reverse it and you're done. There are some resources if you need more detailed guidance, for example: http://www.carworklog.com/2008/06/28/guide-how-to-replace-your-bypass-valve/https://www .youtube.com/watch?v=lQfUQuACkNMhttp://forums.vwvortex.com/showthread.php?6066678-Perfect-replacement-for-your-original-VW-Turbo-Recirculation-Bypass-Valve (DV)-Valve -06H145710D-06H-145-710-D-62-99
