Review on Beadalon Kumihimo Braiding Square Bobbins by Linda Diaz

Revainrating 5 out of 5

Great apart from the instructions provided just get another textbook

I've been looking for a reasonably priced kit for adults to try Kumihimo and it's good. The two discs are made of foam, not cardboard, so they can be used for a long time. I made some braids with ropes I already have at home like hemp and dental floss and I'm looking at some of the leftover pieces of yarn, especially the new look. What's not funny is the instructions. . They're available in multiple languages, which is good, but they're small and appear to be for a telegraph project. It's confusing and maybe daunting when it's easy to learn and can work quickly once you get the rhythm. I mean, for a round disk, a simple 8-strand project starts with putting a string in a slot on each side of the dot space. The string in the lower left corner fits into the slot next to the string at the top. The top right cable goes in the slot next to the bottom right one. Turn the dial counterclockwise a quarter turn, repeat the process, lifting the left string up and the right string down. The hardest part is putting it down and forgetting where you've been :p Once you get the hang of it, it's a great craft to make while waiting, in the car, or on any other trip as long as there are no strings not against the law. It will definitely keep the kids busy.

Pros
  • Great price
Cons
  • I don't remember but there was something
