I like that they switch to TX or RX. Once mated, they stay well mated. The sound quality is also good. My setup: I use these as a wired pair for my wireless surround speakers. I tried 5.8Ghz analog WiFi and got terrible results as the TX signal was destroying the nearby WiFi antenna and very static artifacts/white noise. by signal changes when people move in the room. So I decided to experiment with these little BT devices. Pros: They're easy to hide. They use a simple micro USB power connection. They didn't cause the Wi-Fi signal to drop on a nearby antenna. The sound quality is reasonable, as is the signal level from the preamp. So-so: Latency is very noticeable, so if used like mine, you'll need to use MCACC or Audessy-style room correction to compensate. the lights are hard to see as they flash from blue to red. the broadcast signal is not very strong. An end under the couch 10 feet from the transmitter caused the signal to cut off if anyone came in sight. I used a 6 foot 3.5mm audio extension cable to move the receiver about 5 feet from my transmitter and it worked. Before you ask why there are no wires, I have a wooden floor with no basement or attic. albeit a small room. I hate visible wires. It's not that good: I had a DOA, Amazon quickly replaced it for me. When in use, they stay on as long as there is a signal and about 30 minutes after that. As long as they're on and no sound is being transmitted, they make VERY little noise, which is good, which is what I was hoping for. However, after the receiver automatically turned itself off, it made a loud popping/popping sound through the speakers and then an annoying buzzing/humming sound on the line. The only way to fix this is to turn off my little 2 channel digital amp that is feeding the speakers. Annoying that he isn't staying indefinitely. So I have to manually get to my hidden amp and manually turn it on if I want to hear my surround speakers. Not a big deal, but I'd prefer a device that doesn't turn off automatically. So if you're looking for something similar to mine, they might not work the way you want them to. All in all, they weren't difficult to connect and they work decently in use, just missing an auto shutoff. For headphones or for 2nd zone audio it would be great if they weren't far away.
