Review on Lippert Components Floë Drain-Down System: A Game-Changer for 5th Wheel RVs, Travel Trailers, and Motorhomes by Christopher Gonzalez

Changes in preparation for winter!

Tired of lugging around an air compressor at the end of the season to blow out the lines and make sure I have enough power for the compressor. That meant coordinating my last trip of the year to a campground with electricity or running my generator at the RV depot. In any case, it was a big problem! I saw the Floe integrated water drainage system on the Lippert Components website and decided to give it a try. . All that is needed to install the system is a Phillips screwdriver to mount the unit, a flathead screwdriver to tighten the worm gear clamps, a sharp blade to cut the waterline, and a heat gun or hair dryer to seal the air ducts heat to make them more flexible. I was able to install the unit in a little used cabinet that provides access to my water pump in my 2018 Jayco Eagle HT 314BHDS. This location proved very convenient as I was able to use the included Floe 12v plug and plug straight into the nearest 12v socket inside the TT. In terms of performance, the device was great (a bit loud, but that's how every compressor is); quickly pressurized the lines and it only took 10 minutes to blow out everything (kitchen faucet, bathroom faucet, shower/bathtub, toilet, outdoor kitchen faucet and outdoor shower). Tip: Make sure you turn off the hot water tank bypass before you begin. And as for us Canadians, I've added RV antifreeze to my plumbing, but this device will surely help make spring and fall camping a breeze without the hassle of multiple uses and drains of antifreeze.
