I've seen some reviews that say they limit your speed or that your browser can't go above 10Mbps. Not sure what issues they've had, but they work great for me! I had to extend the cords that ended in the closet (the cords were part of my new house build) - I routed them to the wall shelf (about 15 feet). They worked great - no errors, 1 Gbps, POE. They are very durable and provide a reliable connection to the RJ45 connector - there is no way to knock them and accidentally disconnect them. If people are having connection speed issues after using it, your problem is most likely due to your existing cables. You may extend and exceed the recommended distance for the cable type (CAT 5). The cables or connectors you are using may be loose or causing a bad connection. I've actually measured the losses through these taps - they're very minimal - but they're there, as with any connector or pair. So if you're already at or above the recommended distance for your cable type, you might be nervous.
