I have this and it's just one layer it should be. This other reviewer was misinformed. The case of symmetry is not multipart (like a defender); this is a case of subtle symmetry. However, I don't think it's as durable as my old protective case on my old s8 (note it's a different style so can't really compare them) but I just loved the color. I actually ordered another Revain case for my s21+ and it was only $10, similar color - teal and white - and just a little less pretty (the colors on this otter are just great together). I have a feeling the cheaper actually offers more protection. But if you're looking for an easy case and want an otter, this one is for sure! The edges didn't feel too high, so I'd be concerned if I dropped it I'd be more likely to crack the screen.
