Overall the lights are fine and do what you want them to. However, I work for a company that makes professional sets (an installation like TV Newsroom). Sometimes we need to cut the material and splice the wires according to our needs (Warning: the distances between the cuts are quite big; more than 12 inches!). From time to time the user makes a mistake and we cross the wires and a spark appears. This is usually not the case. It's no problem to reset the surge protector or turn off the fuse and you're back. However, there are NO fuses or switches in this unit. It just burns out the internal connection and the power cord is unusable. I have tried ordering more cables (which they offer) but they are not compatible even using their own listed part number. My cables came with connectors that you connect and make with a threaded connector. Your new part doesn't have this fitting at all and I can't find these connectors in the original packaging. I had to modify another cable from another manufacturer to get my project working. I ordered 5 reels and had to throw away 3 cords. a switch or fuse in the cable that was present Good product but I If you snap the cable you're screwed!
