Review on 🎧 Bose QuietComfort 15 Acoustic Noise Cancelling Headphones - (No Longer Available) by Tyler Born

Revainrating 3 out of 5

One doesn't necessarily fit all

Just not what I expected. I do some air travel and have almost always used a CD player (pre-iPod) or iPod. Only used headphones but wasn't happy with all the extra noise. I took noise canceling headphones that a colleague left about 10 years ago and used them for a few years. I don't know who made them but they fit snugly but the ear cups fitted the ear, not circular. Not the most comfortable. I always thought about buying Bose. First, they are very comfortable. No problem wearing them on a 4 hour flight. With the caveat that I'm older AND that I had hearing loss due to a viral infection a few years ago, I wasn't at all happy with the sound quality of the Bose headphones. (It goes without saying that as you age you gradually lose the ability to hear high frequencies.) The Bose were just too bass-heavy for my liking. I went back to the old set which I think sounds a lot better. It seems like Bose could have included a built-in equalizer for the price. (I have a hunch a lot of people won't find Bose bassy enough.) With an equalizer, everyone can choose their own "mix". The real plus, which I've only experienced with some early Kindle models, is the excellent return policy and the Revain method. Fast, convenient and the money is returned very quickly. Still, I'd advise others to do what I haven't: find a pair to "test" before you really rush to buy them.
