Great sound but cheap material quality

Great sound but cheap material quality which is annoying since you are paying a lot for this toy. I had to sew the pillows on both sides because the foam was coming out and now the faux leather is slowly peeling off exposing the cheap fabric underneath. Come on, Bose, faux leather, right? By the way, I had to replace them after 15 days because I heard a metallic noise in one of the headphones. And then one day it randomly stops working, but comes back to life after a few vigorous shakes. Now…

Essential for those who are easily distracted while studying.

Excellent headphones. I'll note one thing: the noise-cancellation itself doesn't cut off calls. But, you know what? The technology is not designed for this! The noise cancellation technology was developed to suppress continuous noise, such as that encountered by construction workers during work. It suppresses background noise phenomenally. However, turning on brown noise or music in the background drowns out the conversation pretty well. So don't skimp on noise cancellation. They work very…

Pros
  • High marks for support and durability from testers
Cons

One doesn't necessarily fit all

Just not what I expected. I do some air travel and have almost always used a CD player (pre-iPod) or iPod. Only used headphones but wasn't happy with all the extra noise. I took noise canceling headphones that a colleague left about 10 years ago and used them for a few years. I don't know who made them but they fit snugly but the ear cups fitted the ear, not circular. Not the most comfortable. I always thought about buying Bose. First, they are very comfortable. No problem wearing them on a 4…

Unprovoked failure of the headband carrier material (plastic)!

As an aviation professional I have worn BOSE MIL aircraft noise canceling headsets for years and I expected the same quality when I decided to purchase a Quiet Comfort 15 acoustic noise canceling headphone. BOSE works very well. However, when I put them on last night to listen to some long-awaited renditions of Yuja Wang's Rachmaninoff, the right headphone bracket simply snapped and detached (the plastic material broke). The tear is totally irreparable (i.e. it's not just a matter of re-gluing…

Three people in first class. . .

. . . wore these headphones. I use them every day at work to focus on programming because I have an operations manager next to me. Why would a programmer sit next to a person who chats all day? i think she likes me But it's good, like these headphones! These headphones also work well at home. I have a neighbor upstairs who I will call Thumbelina to protect the innocent. I can't understand how a little girl like that can stomp around like Clydesdale every minute she's home. Are they working to…

Excellent noise cancellation, comfortable fit. Lousy chord

I'm a software engineer working in a cubicle where the ceiling hums from the heater (we're on the top floor) of an office building - HVAC on the roof). These headphones create an oasis of silence! The noise-cancellation *seems* to be head and shoulders above others I've tried (Beats Studio at Target and Sony at Costco), although the comparison isn't entirely fair as I haven't tried Bose in the same conditions as Bose. others (e.g. in a noisy shop). How good is that? The humming AC noise is…

Pros
  • One year probationary period
Cons
  • I'll be silent

Still good, the price should go down.

This construction is made from lightweight plastic and metal with some leather. This is to help with portability and give them a slight sense of wholeness when you wear them. These headphones don't fold like my audio engineers do, but rotate 90 degrees and fit into the case made for them. That leaves bigger marks. The cable from the headphones to the audio source is proprietary, and while the word 'proprietary' is sometimes frowned upon, you'll be glad to know that you can actually replace the…
