I have a home office in a rather small living room and have used black office chairs with standard armrests for years. In the end I decided to look for a smaller office chair that wouldn't take up as much space. I fell in love with the look of this little chair and decided it would suit me even though I knew it wouldn't provide enough back support. I love the way it looks and it looks great with my gray table and wood paneling in the living room. My only concern is that the seating area is small and a bit cramped. I'm not slim and sometimes I feel like I have to hold on to my chair to get up. Let's just say it's very supportive. Like an office chair, it swivels and adjusts up and down like a regular office chair. The lack of upper back support doesn't bother me, but some people may need that level of support. I probably wouldn't want to sit in it 8-10 hours a day, but for my purposes it's quite. It came in a box and I was able to assemble it in about 40 minutes using the tools provided.
