The extended chassis and camera hood cost $.
The extended chassis protects the camera from tall grass or rocks when it lands directly on the ground. The lens hood protects against annoying side reflections and flare rays that ruin your shots. I won't be using the chassis all the time, but the hood is on my Mini almost all the time.
