Here's how I approached the installation: 1. First of all, when the oven is off, there is no need to unplug the oven.2. If you are careful, removal and replacement can be done entirely inside the oven without pulling it out to reveal the back.3. When performing step 2, there is a possibility that one or both of the lead wires will fall behind the oven wall.4. If this happens you can take a hanger, bend it into a hook and try to fish the wire back into the oven. It turns out that even with the stove off, there is still a hot connector within reach of the coat hanger hook mentioned above.6. If the hanger's hook touches the hot terminal, step 1 becomes moot if you're lucky and the circuit breaker trips. If you're not so lucky, your family and/or friends will find you dead, your head stuck in the cavity of the ELECTRIC furnace. Or you can bypass the steps above, unplug the oven, pull it out of the wall, remove the back panel and do it right. My own stupidity aside, the replacement element fits and works great.
