Although the details say it's synthetic copper whatever it is and later say it's copper it isn't. The magnet will pick them up, so they're copper-plated steel. DAMN ADVERTISING They say they work, although they will rust if exposed to a high humidity environment. I don't think you can expect anything better for the price. I would pay a little more if I could get them in solid copper.
