Review on G Keni Rechargeable Bike Tail Light with Anti-Theft Alarm, Electric Horn, Bike Finder/Tracker Remote, IPX6 Waterproof Mountain Bike Accessories by Matt Conner

Revainrating 4 out of 5

For medium theft protection, the little thing is great.

alarm: once the alarm is on, any movement of the bike will be triggered for 30 seconds and remain in the alarm state until it is disarmed or deactivated. The alarm can be turned off by pressing the blue shortcut key if you've set it up, but if you don't set it I'm pretty sure it just turns on the alarm. I don't use it so I don't know. As for the volume, it's LOUD. You will hear it very easily when you go to the store. It's about as loud as a car alarm, but not quite. Light: It's not the brightest taillight I've seen for a bike, but it's still bright enough. Easily covers 180 degrees, but as expected loses brightness towards the extreme lateral corners. It has three modes: slow flashing, fast flashing, constant. Makes a very faint sound when the light is on, similar to how a circuit board allows a small amount of current to flow through an alarm speaker. You can only really hear it if you try, but I guarantee it will reduce battery life. Remote Control: The range of the remote easily adjusts to the display and you can extend the range a bit by pressing it against your chin before pressing the button as your head acts as an amplifier. It's very light and feels cheap so I'm not sure how long it will last. I have no experience with this company so I don't know if they will endorse their product and replace the remote. don't lose it The buttons are tactile, and once you know which function does what, you can easily feel the button without looking. Hardware: Many adapters included. You can mount the remote on your bike, but it's all plastic on plastic and I don't see a mechanism that can handle too many removals and additions of the remote to and from the adapter. I decided to just hang it on my keychain, but since you can use it as a horn you might want to use it. Velcro can be used instead. The lantern is attached with an adapter that is tightened between the seat stays. If you have round saddle rails, like most saddles, this adapter will work, but if you have oval carbon rails, it will not. It still worked, but it's tilted to one side and not entirely secure (tilts up/down a bit). The taillight slides in and attaches to this adapter and can then be bolted on if you want extra protection from being dropped or removed. I screwed mine in and it turned out to be very strong. There are a few other adapters that I didn't need. The included cable ties are not very good. Battery: Just a minor note, but the manual and website says it's 700mAh, but the taillight says 800mAh. There is definitely still enough space for the rear light, but there is still a discrepancy. Compatibility: Aside from the mentioned oval guides, there is one more thing worth mentioning. This lantern works easily with the saddlebag underneath. The light is still visible and the saddlebag is still far from touching the rear wheel. All in all this is a great product. The alarm and remote control functions work well, battery life and range are good, and the light is bright enough. I'm taking off a star because the batteries don't match and the build quality is cheap since everything is plastic except for the screws. IMO the best use case for this product is for those who stop a lot in public places and want their bike to be light. without having to carry around a bulky high-security padlock. Combine this alarm with a small padlock or two that will secure the tires in place so they can't be driven away, and then you should be set while you're ready for the alarm to go off. Even cutting off the cable lock should make this thing stand out. I will update this review later with a picture of him on my bike. EDIT: Added three images. Slight comparison photos are taken between this and the popular B015IEJ0GC taillight, which is often rebranded. Still happy with the product after just over a week of use.
