Great dog door, not suitable for extreme temperatures

I bought one of these for a door panel in our basement about 5 years ago. We built a wooden frame to take up space in the doorway and fitted this door into it, it fits perfectly as a standard dog door. I was expecting that at such a high price point it would be better at keeping out the heat compared to a standard door advertised as being weather resistant. She had quite a depth, and years later the depth only increased dramatically.
